Mercedes Sprinter

Eugene, OR // 2020

The Mercedes Sprinter Service Center is a storage facility and maintenance center serving commercial van owners. The facility required renovation and expansion to update the building’s infrastructure and meet the evolving needs of the customers and operators. Woodblock designed the 13,000 SF facility to function better for the end-users while balancing the standards and requirements of the Mercedes brand. The expanded facilities were also integrated with the equipment supplier, requiring new design features. The project needed complex MEP and structural integration; Woodblock worked closely with the engineers to ensure the building was aesthetically and structurally sound. Due to the site’s past use as a meat processing plant, the contaminated lot required extensive geotechnical excavation, which designers needed to account for in the project’s schedule.
