2800 Division St.

Portland, OR // 2019

The project, located on the active SE Division Street corridor, was an adaptive reuse of a 1916 building where they grew bean sprouts (no shit) that was in desperate need of love. In addition to a full seismic upgrade, we restored all the original storefront openings that has been covered over to create a natural light filled space that showcases the heavy timber roof construction. We incorporated new modern canopies and exterior lighting into the design and maintained the original wood moldings and trim at the corner entry. The original building proved to be a complicated challenge housing 3 different interior floor heights. Luckily our team was able to reconcile the offset with new entries and a concrete slab at one consistent height.
